After the divorce of Priscilla and Elvis, his health began to decline faster than anybody could imagine. He began to eat too much of un-healthy foods. He stopped Karate all together. It was plain to everyone that he was just not taking care of himself. Elvis Began to gain a lot of weight very quickly. Despite the increase in weight gain, he excepted it and so did his fans. His tremendous voice never failed him.

During and after the divorce, Elvis did a 15 ciy tour starting in Buffalo New York and ending in Albuquerque New Mexico. The footage is part of the documentary "Elvis on Tour". On June 9th to the 11th, 1972; Elvis made his first live concert in New York. On January 14, 1973; "Elvis:Aloha from Hawaii" is taped at Honolulu International Center Arena. It will be seen by nearly 1.5 billion people.

By 1974, not only did Elvis' body begin to go down hill, his records were declining as well. He wasn't producing many hit's during the mid 70's and on. His last biggest hit was "Suspicious Minds" (1969). Although Elvis did many performances during his final years, he was hospitalized a lot of the times. He was takeing uppers at night to keep him energetic and awake for the concerts; and downers in the morning to keep him asleep for the next concert. This went on for many, many years. Elvis was hospitalized in late October of 1973 for medical problems related to prescription pills. Almost immedietely after the divorce on October 9, 1973. January 29th to February 14th, 1975; Elvis is once again hospitalized for medical problems related to prescription pills. On August 18, 1975; Elvis begins an engagement at the Hilton but sadly, it is cut short for he is hospitalized again for medical problems related prescription pills. During this time, Elvis had to cancel many performances and make them up. This went on and on until his death. Early November of 1976, Elvis and long term girlfriend since 1972, will have split up. By the end of that month, Elvis begins seeing Ginger Alden; whom will remain at his side until his death. On December 2nd to the 12th, 1976; Elvis will make his last appearance at the Hilton. On December 31, 1976; Elvis does a special New Year's Eve performance in Pittsburgh, PA. Elvis tours in the early part of 1977 but from April 1st to the 5th, he is again hospitalized and some shows have to be cancelled. On June 19th, 20th, and the 21st; concerts are recorded by RCA and videotaped by CBS for the upcoming special "Elvis in Concert". The footage shows clearly Elvis' deteriorating condition. The special will not be shown until after his death on October 3, 1977. June 26, 1977; is a day in history that will remain in everyone's heart. This is the concert at Indianapolis, Indiana; Market Square Arena. This will be Elvis' last performance on stage in front of an audience. During this time, Elvis began to fire many people from his crew. Whether they were road guys, or bodyguards. In July of 1977, three former bodyguards publish the book "Elvis: What Happened?" which details Elvis' drug use for the first time in public. When Elvis discovered that these three individuals published this book, he fired quite a bit of people in his crew whom were involved in it. Elvis did not appreciate it at all! He felt that he was violated and felt that he has done nothing wrong. He couldn't understand why his friends would betray him like that. The drugs that Elvis was taking began to take over his his actions, including his heart. He had no idea of whom, what, or how many people he was hurting. Many, many people told him to stop the drugs and go out there clean. He was so badly out of shape and there was nothing anybody could do. Telling Elvis what to do is like telling the president how to run his country. "He was the King"! Nobody could tell him otherwise.

But we all know that he should have listened just this one time!
